SAMPOL will carry out the project for the electrical connection to power supply ferries in the 1st outer section of the Commercial Docks of the Port of Palma.
Previously, SAMPOL also carried out the electrical installation to ferries at the Paraires Quay of the Port of Palma.
On this occasion, an extension of the Medium Voltage 15 kV 50 Hz electrical network will be carried out to serve the Transformer Substation (CT-OPS) to be located in the vicinity of the wharf.
To make the installation flexible and versatile, it will include transformers, switchgear, distribution boards, etc. and will allow the connection of vessels of all types:
- FAST FERRY: maximum power demand of 800kW. With a power supply system in Jaba Tension at 400V, at industrial frequency of 50 or 60Hz.
- FERRY: maximum power demand of 1,600kW, with a medium voltage power supply system at 11 kV, at industrial frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.
The electrification system, on the other hand, will have equipment to make the connection between the dock’s switchboard and the ship’s electrical connection point, the Cable Management Unit (CMU).
WORK WE WILL PERFORM:
- Install a Transformer Substation (CT-OPS) with two 1,000kVA 15/0.5 kV transformers, i.e. with an available power of 2MVA.
- Install a Transformer/Converter Substation (SET-OPS) equipped with:
- Frequency converters at 50/60 Hz 500/457V.
- A 2,000 kV 0.5-0.475/11 kV transformer and MV protection and metering switchgear to serve two dock-side medium voltage tap boxes.
- A 1,000 kVA 0.5-0.475/0.4 kV transformer and a protection panel to serve a future low-voltage pier-side switchboard.
- To carry out the conduits and wiring to feed the boxes with the MV socket located at the edge of the dock.
SAMPOL has also carried out similar works at Muelle Transversal de Costa, Valencia, and Muelle Grande, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
