SAMPOL has been awarded the contract for runway marking at Jorge Chávez International Airport.

Jorge Chávez International Airport in Peru will rehabilitate runway 16L-34R and SAMPOL will execute the project’s beaconing and visual aids.

During the first months of construction, repairs to taxiways and minor improvements will be carried out, while the bulk of the work will take place during the runway closure period, scheduled between September and November 2025, where the installation and testing of equipment on the runway will be carried out.

SAMPOL’s work complements that of the civil works, which includes the rehabilitation of the runway pavement and taxiways, the adequacy of the strips and RESAs, the VSRB service road, the fuel pipeline passage, the area under the runway and taxiways, the construction of the new regulator room, which will include a warehouse, offices and toilets, a transformation center and associated medium voltage lines, and the execution of 27 km of new pipe banks for AGL circuits.

In this reform, SAMPOL will work closely with STRACON and CORPAC.

The project started this month and has a completion period of approximately 10 months.

Work we are going to perform:

  • Complete renovation of the entire visual aid system of the maneuvering area associated with runway 16-34R.
  • Implementation and expansion of the current ALCMS (LGA control system) and integration of the new one with CORPAC’s integrated information system (SII).
  • Installation of axle and taxiway edge lights on Lima Street and connections L3 and L5.
  • Installation of new wiring for the AGL system, associated with runway 16L-34R and associated taxiways.
  • Specialized training services for AGL control and maintenance personnel.
  • AGL equipment of the new regulator room.

 

SAMPOL WILL INTEGRATE:

  • More than 2,300 track and shooting lights.
  • 330 km of primary cable.
  • 325 km of secondary cable.
  • 37 regulators.
  • PLC cabinets for complete and redundant control.
