SAMPOL took part in the II Circular Innovation Hackathon, held at the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) on 15 and 16 November.
This innovation competition brought together 150 students from 35 universities with STEM backgrounds (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and aimed to accelerate the transition to a circular tourism system to transform the Balearic Islands. As one of the six participating companies from the Impulsa Balears board, SAMPOL, along with other organisations, posed six challenges for the 30 competing teams. These challenges focused on water, energy, food, materials, mobility and marine territory. Each team had 24 hours to solve their assigned challenge.
SAMPOL’S CHALLENGE
SAMPOL’s R&D+i Department presented the challenge ”Optimising a photovoltaic plant using cutting-edge tools and technologies”. The challenge focused on enhancing photovoltaic production through battery storage solutions. The teams that tackled this task impressed the jury with their imaginative and effective solutions. After an intense competition, the “JIT TEAM” was recognised as the team that best solved the challenge.
Congratulations to all participants!
