Bacardí, the world’s largest international spirits company, has entrusted SAMPOL with the integration of a system that reduces its carbon footprint by 50% while enhancing the resilience and quality of the energy supply at its largest distillery in Puerto Rico. Through this low-carbon energy installation, we will supply power to Bacardí for the next 15 years.

The system is designed to use the biogas generated by the distillery’s waste management process to produce electricity and steam, achieving a 50% reduction in its carbon footprint, a significant improvement in energy supply quality and considerable cost savings. It will generate 100% of the energy used across the site, including the distillery, offices and Casa Bacardí visitor centre – one of the island’s most visited tourist destinations. As part of the transition towards greener energy, the new installation ensures a reliable power supply for the facility while also supporting local economic development.

We continue to add outstanding clients to our portfolio while maintaining our firm commitment to investing in energy projects that deliver added value.

Puerto Rico’s Governor, Pedro Pierluisi, performed the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony at the inauguration.
