SAMPOL, through its business unit SAMPOL Digital, will be present at The Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), taking place at the Palau de Congressos in Palma de Mallorca from 9 to 11 April 2019. SAMPOL will be located at stand 155 showcasing projects related to GPON (Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network) and its integrated management platform, SmartRetia.
As part of its continuous innovation process, SAMPOL Digital has introduced cutting-edge solutions in the hotel industry. One of its flagship projects is RETiA FTTR (Fiber To The Room) – a technology in which SAMPOL Digital was a global pioneer and is now a leading reference. RETiA FTTR is the latest in fibre-optic-based telecommunications technology, delivering IP services (Internet, TV, telephony, IoT) directly to hotel rooms, all unified via a simple fibre optic thread. This marks a shift from traditional analogue networks to fully digital, fibre-optic networks. SAMPOL has already connected over 28,000 hotel rooms across Spain and the Caribbean with GPON fibre-optic technology.
SAMPOL’s goal is to provide added value that enables the delivery of comprehensive and innovative technological solutions to its clients, based on research and development into current technological paradigms such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Big Data, Industry 4.0 (Digital Twin) and IoT, in an environment where the boundary between IS and ES is becoming increasingly blurred.
SAMPOL is honoured to attend HITEC 2019 for the second year in a row, the world’s largest and longest-running hospitality technology conference and trade show. This prestigious event brings together world-class training opportunities, industry leaders and new cutting-edge technologies for the hospitality industry. SAMPOL Digital was one of the first to introduce GPON technology to the hospitality industry, a solution that is now revolutionising telecommunications in hotels. Thanks to its vision and persistence, many hoteliers have already adopted this technology, while others are considering it after seeing its advantages. Looking ahead, SAMPOL expects RETIA FTTR to become the preferred choice for hoteliers when deploying telecommunications in new builds and renovation projects.
