DESCRIPTION: Cogeneration plant based on a dual turbine (LPG/Biogas), where the biogas comes from the rum distillation process. The steam demand will be supplied by thermal recovery of the exhaust gases in a recovery boiler complemented by an afterburner to generate process steam. To support steam production, a conventional dual boiler will provide the missing steam.
This implementation is a good example of circular economy and renewable energy, providing high efficiency and a reduced carbon footprint. The plant gives Bacardi autonomy from the local grid, ensuring flexibility and continuity of production.
