The emissions per MWh from national grid generators are significantly lower than those from the ships\u2019 auxiliary engines. Additionally, this system allows the auxiliary engines to remain switched off, preventing noise and vibrations.<\/p>\n<p>This system will enable the port to reduce emissions of sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), primary particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon dioxide (CO2) and substances that deplete the ozone layer.<\/p>\n<p>The work to be carried out involves:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extension of the 15 kV medium-voltage electrical network.<\/li>\n<li>Installation of a transformer centre at each alignment of the South Botafoc Pier (CT-OPS Sur and CT-OPS Norte), each equipped with two 1,000 kVA 15\/0.5 kV transformers.<\/li>\n<li>Installation of a transformer\/converter substation (SET-OPS) at each alignment of the South Botafoc Pier (SET-OPS Sur and SET-OPS Norte).<\/li>\n<li>Execution of ducting and cabling to supply the necessary power distribution panels at the quay edge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The design will allow for the provision of electrical service at each quay to ships with higher power requirements, at a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz, and at either low or medium voltage (400 V or 11 kV).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fast ferry: Maximum power demand of 800 kW, supplied via a low-voltage electrical system at 400 V, at an industrial frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.<\/li>\n<li>Ferry: Maximum power demand of 1,600 kW, supplied via a medium-voltage electrical system at 11 kV, at an industrial frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The South Botafoc Pier at the Port of Ibiza is located at the south-eastern end of the port, near the entrance channel. It is 200 metres long and consists of two alignments: \u201cNorth\u201d and \u201cSouth\u201d.
