SAMPOL has been a member of the United Nations Global Compact for years.
SAMPOL joins the SIGNATORY group in 2018 and joins the initiative to promote the 10 principles of the Global Compact and the SDGs to correct the injustices suffered by so many and achieve the 2030 agenda, unconditionally supporting human rights.
Indeed, in 2018 UN Global Compact launches the New 2020 Strategy to unify the initiative. With the arrival in 2015 of Lise Kingo as Executive Director of UN Global Compact, a strategic review was carried out that concluded the opportunity to evolve towards a stronger, mature and professional initiative that guarantees the continuity of the project in the long term. In parallel, that same year the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were approved by the United Nations as the new global scenario for sustainability until 2030.
Thus, in 2016, the 2030 Agenda came into force, whose central theme is to work hand in hand with the companies in the new scenario of the SDGs. The 17 SDGs of the 2030 agenda cover global priorities as diverse as: Poverty reduction; hunger 0; Health & Wellness; quality education; Gender equality; clean water and sanitation; affordable and non-polluting energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructure; reduction of inequalities; sustainable cities and communities; responsible production and consumption; action for the weather; submarine life; life of terrestrial ecosystems; peace, justice and solid institutions; alliances to achieve the objectives.
